I’ve been thinking a lot about the Class of 2020. I can only imagine the heaviness and layers of disappointment that must exist when ending such an important chapter of one’s life during such strange and unprecedented circumstances. High school graduation is a truly special event, representing a culmination of achievements and a momentous transition into the great journey of adulthood and independence. My heart is feeling heavy for all of the students who are missing out on the opportunity to be honored in the ways that they always imagined. So in a small way, I’d like to pay tribute to each of the incredible seniors that I photographed this fall.
Today I want to honor Miah Bohlen, who I have known since she was a little girl in my K4 Spanish class. She is one of the sweetest and kindest girls I’ve had the pleasure of teaching and I truly enjoyed catching up with her this fall to see and hear how she’s grown since elementary school. Miah is graduating fron Nicolet High School this spring, where she played on the Tennis team, participated in Model UN and National History Day, co-led Nicolet’s She’s The First chapter, and loved learning. Miah already misses her teachers and spending time with her friends.
In the fall, Miah will attend Miami University of Ohio, where she will study Marketing with a Sustainability emphasis, and will also earn a degree in Spanish (which sure makes her former Spanish teacher very proud!) Congratulations, Miah, on your excellence in high school! Wishing you much happiness throughout this exciting next chapter of your life!
