Bode’s Surf themed Bar Mitzvah celebration at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center was totally rad from start to finish. Not surprising at all since this wasn’t my first rodeo with this fam and they sure know how to throw a party! This kahuna of a celebration was my third and final opportunity (unless I am still doing this when they have grandkids! Ha!) to capture a mitzvah for the Bazelon family, after previously documenting Harper’s “Endless Summer” Celebration and Jack’s sports themed celebration with his best bud, Owen. Bode had a special ceremony in St. Thomas with his family the week before this party where he became a bar mitzvah, and while I couldn’t be there to document that, I was stoked to capture this gnarly celebration where he was surrounded by family and friends from near and far who absolutely adore him. The icing on the cake for me, was listening to the speeches that his friends gave about him. The common theme: Bode is the most joyful kid with the kindest heart. He lights up every room he enters and makes people feel lucky to be his friend. I actually got super teary listening to his people talk about how amazing he is. 💗 What an incredible kiddo–I know Amy and Adam must be so proud of him.
