This family holds a very special place in my heart, so I was absolutely thrilled when Ben asked me to photograph them this fall. He chose the same special place that we captured their family photos in the fall of 2019, shortly after his wife, Darcie, was diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer. Darcie was an incredibly beautiful person, who touched countless people with her kindness, generosity, warmth and dazzling smile. She is deeply missed by so many, but none so much as Ben, Emma and Caleb. ❤️ Ben has established a foundation in Darcie’s honor, to help other families that face similar hardships that they’ve endured. The foundation’s mission will surely keep Darcie’s spirit alive and leave a lasting legacy. Spend just a short time with this lovely trio, and it is evident that Darcie lives on in each of them too. The light she shined on this earth forever remains through the way in which they are lighting the way for others.
