I met Robin and Adam in the spring of 2011 on a cold and rainy day. Not unusual for spring in Wisconsin. However the crazy thing was, it was sunny that morning, but as I was driving to meet them at Alterra on the Lake, (which is the same location I met them later that summer to shoot their engagement photos) the sky suddenly opened up and down poured tiny pellets of snow-like hail. There was something almost momentous about it. Fast forward 15 months to Robin and Adam’s June wedding at the Seven Seas on Lake Nagawicka in Hartland. It was an incredibly hot and humid day. Not unusual for summer in Wisconsin. However, it feels exceptionally hotter when you’re nine-months pregnant and lugging around super heavy camera equipment. That afternoon, Robin and Adam said their vows under a giant arbor on a friends-and-family-packed lakefront terrace. It was a tad bit cloudy, but as the two became one, the sky opened up and down poured beautiful rays of hazy sunshine. There was something most certainly momentous about it. Their wedding was filled with classic touches and brilliant hues of yellow and gray. Good food was followed by great toasts and as the sun was setting, it seemed like every guest, young and old, had their dancing shoes on.
