In Memory of Philip Gutter

Philip Gutter, a soon-to-be sixth-grader at Bayside Middle School, was an exceptional student who excelled in all classes, but had a special passion for math and reading. Philip died in a tragic car accident on July 25 in Minnesota which also took the life of his mother, Megan and grandfather, Mark. Beloved by his family, friends, classmates, and teachers, Philip had the most contagious smile,  a cheerful demeanor and an incredibly kind-hearted personality. He loved basketball and dreamed of someday becoming a Supreme Court Justice. Philip will be desperately missed by all those who knew and loved him. A balloon release ceremony was held at Bayside Middle School on August 6 in his honor. Classmates and their families were invited to write messages and memories on balloons and on a memory banner which will hang inside the school lobby.  The balloons were released by Philip’s family and friends at 5:33pm, an ode to Philip’s basketball number, 33. I was honored to be there to capture this beautiful memorial event.

Dear Philip,  You were such a special part of all that is right in the world. Thank you for shining your light upon all who were lucky to know you.  You and your everlasting spirit will live on forever in our hearts, sweet angel. We will be looking for your footprints now and forever.

Philip is survived by family and friends, including his dad, Booker, his brother, Evan; his brother, Mateo and his step-mom, Diana. Donations for the family are being accepted via Venmo.  If you can find it in your heart to help, support in any amount is deeply appreciated.

Hi, I'm Erin...

...and this is me and my soulmate. Wanna know more about me and my crazy, beautiful, chaotic life? I have seven kids.

I LOVE coffee, travel, live music, fresh flowers and all things yoga. I'm not a fan of beer or bonfires and I REALLY can't stand bushy beards. Ewww!

I dream of living on the beach one day, where I'll sip margaritas and watch the sunset with my husband.
