Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Others begin much more simply — with a kickball game, a new neighborhood, and two people who had no idea that one ordinary moment would eventually lead them here.
For Jackson and Gabriella, it all started back in high school when they first became neighbors. Somewhere between backyard games, a high school crush, and countless memories made along the way, their friendship blossomed into something deeper. Years later, that beginning brought them to this hot, sun-soaked summer day on the Milwaukee lakefront, surrounded by the people who had watched their story unfold.
And what a day it was. From the anticipation of getting ready to the excitement of seeing each other and sharing private vows, every moment of their day carried a sense of familiarity and joy. Yet their love story is about all the moments; the ordinary ones, the funny ones, the growing-up-together ones; that slowly built a life and a love worth celebrating.
Milwaukee’s shoreline provided the perfect backdrop for their wedding day, with bright blue skies overhead and Lake Michigan stretching out behind them. And amidst that gorgeous setting, Jackson and Gabriella looked completely at home together in the middle of a day that seemed to move far too quickly.
There is something special about photographing couples who have history. You can see it in the way they look at each other, in the comfortable silence, in the spontaneous laughter, and in the tiny gestures that don’t need to be explained. Jackson and Gabriella have that. And while their wedding day was filled with the all big moments you’d expect; vows, celebration, dancing, hugs, and happy tears; it was the in-between moments that told their story best: a hand held a little longer, a laugh shared when no one else was watching, and that look that says, there is no one else on this earth for me but you.
As the day turned into night at South Shore Pavilion, the summer sun made everything look magical. The lake stretched endlessly beyond the pavilion, a gentle breeze floated across the water, while the sunset painted the sky in hues of pink of purple. It was under this night sky, surrounded by their favorite people, where Jackson and Gabriella began their next chapter.
