What fun to be a part of this incredibly special graduation surprise last weekend! Sophia, a senior at Marquette University, was set to graduate this spring, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences and a long list of accomplishments. Like most students of the Class of 2020, she will still be the worthy recipient of that degree, but her plans to proudly walk across the stage and accept her diploma in front of family and friends were woefully interrupted by the pandemic. Fortunately for Sophia, her mom and dad had a splendid surprise up their sleeves and I was there to capture it all. On the day before Sophia would have graduated from Marquette University, her parents surprised her with a faux graduation ceremony, complete with a stage, a car parade of friends and family, and the Dean of the College of Health Sciences, who was there to hand off her diploma! And if that wasn’t enough, they also unveiled a spectacular gift immediately after the ceremony. Check it out! Congratulations, Sophia and best wishes in Boston!
