I don’t even know where to start when it comes to this gorgeous family….they are all simply BEAUTIFUL, inside and out. And writing these words still doesn’t cover the depth of my adoration for them. Strangely enough, I met Sara and Clay right in my own backyard, when they brought their two darling girls to complete a morning of yard work at the home of someone they had never met: me. My husband Mark had passed away unexpectedly a few months earlier, and Sara had known him as the principal who hired her for her new job teaching Spanish in the Shorewood School District. Of course this was a devastatingly difficult time for us as a family but the community around us wrapped their arms around us to lift us up in endless ways…one of which was creating a sign-up for spring and fall yard clean-up that following year. Enter Clay and Sara and their darling girls. I don’t even know if they realize how deeply this lovely and generous gesture touched my heart. While we haven’t spent a lot of time together, we’ve kept up with each other’s lives via social media over the years and while I’ve watched their beautiful family grow from afar, I feel like I’ve truly gotten to know them and am constantly touched by their beautiful spirits. Recently, Clay’s generosity and talent impacted my life once again when he created a beautiful tribute and promotional video for the Mark Harris Fellowship Program, the non-profit organization which has been established to honor Mark’s legacy by providing mentoring and financial assistance to high school students seeking higher education. Clay and Sara, I can’t thank you enough for your friendship and for the love you have showered upon my family. It means more than you will ever know. Thank you for the privilege and honor of capturing you and your beautiful girls in one of your favorite places. xoxo
