Spread Your Wings Walk 2017 | Milwaukee Event Photographer

Last Sunday, I had the honor of photographing this beautiful event for my friend Karen Behl. The Spread Your Wings Walk is an annual event which honors the life and gifts of Karen’s son Michael Janasik, who left this earth much to soon, at the age of 18, when his life was taken by the actions of a drunk driver. Karen has worked tirelessly as an advocate for stricter laws and penalties for drunk driving and also to spread awareness about organ donation through Donate Life.  Michael had registered himself to be an organ donor as a teenager and saved the lives of five people through his gifts of life. Michael was a beautiful soul who I was lucky to know when I was his 5th grade Spanish teacher. His memory lives on today through the lives that he’s touched and the gifts that he shared. Karen, you are truly and inspiration to me. You are a warrior mama, and I am blessed to have you as a friend! XOXO
